Built in the 1870s, the heritage-listed Werribee Mansion is one of Victoria's most historically significant properties and a prominent tourist attraction for visitors from across the state. As part of a major conservation program led by Parks Victoria, Stokes Rousseau has been awarded the contract to deliver critical fire safety upgrades, essential safety measures (ESM), and roof and façade conservation works to ensure the ongoing protection of this irreplaceable asset.

The works comprise three integrated packages. The first involves upgrading the fire hydrant infrastructure to improve on-site emergency response capacity, in alignment with current fire safety standards. The second focuses on bringing the building's ESM into compliance, addressing risks associated with heritage building use and enhancing visitor safety through discreet, code-compliant solutions. The third, and most intricate, involves roof and façade conservation — encompassing heritage-sensitive repairs to the roof structure, improved drainage, and strengthening of the building envelope against future weather impacts.

With a strong commitment to quality craftsmanship and heritage sensitivity, Stokes Rousseau will deliver these works in close collaboration with Parks Victoria and on-site stakeholders. The project exemplifies our capability in delivering technically complex, conservation-led works within nationally significant heritage environments.
