The Project Details

The University of Melbourne

Lovell Chen

Stokes Rousseau was engaged to deliver façade and window conservation works at the historic Botany Building at The University of Melbourne.

The ivy-covered building required careful restoration to preserve its heritage character while addressing structural and weather-related deterioration.

The works included brick re-pointing, render and pressed cement repairs, refurbishment of original timber windows, and stormwater upgrades. Conservation works were also undertaken on the building’s prominent stained glass window, including joinery restoration and specialist glass preservation. Painting and finishing works completed the project, ensuring the Botany Building remains a cherished part of the University’s architectural landscape.
