Kyneton Town Hall Facade and Roof Restoration

The Project Details

Macedon Ranges Shire Council

RBA Architects

Stokes Rousseau was engaged to deliver significant conservation and roof restoration works at the historic Kyneton Town Hall, a landmark civic building constructed in 1865.

Originally serving as the Kyneton Shire Hall, the building now plays a central role in the Macedon Ranges Shire Council’s Arts and Culture Performance Season.

The project scope included extensive façade conservation and roofing works. Major components involved the replacement of both slate and corrugated roofing, façade paint stripping, render removal and repair, reconstruction of chimney caps, and stormwater upgrades. Additional works included fascia and eave replacement, conservation of original sash windows, external painting, and the installation of new external feature lighting — all delivered with careful attention to the building’s heritage character and ongoing public use.
